Mu On Mo #39 – Now It’s Time To Say Good Night

September 24, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

…so, that bad time I went through ?

Going by feelings …still sorta kinda here.

It’s not around as often as before but still intense when it is.

I coped by lots & lots of diversion.

I coped by just letting it be.

I coped by friends.

It was hard to tell them, especially since reactions of total strangers (yes, I bothered those too), while diverse, weren’t all very positive.

Going by what most such others told me, it’s “creepy”, “weird”, “gay”, “pervy”, “worrying”, etc etc etc.

Being judged by other people’s standards when you’re emotionally drowning = not a big help.

Anyhoo, I got by with a lil’ help from my friends.

& since this whole thing’s been (directly & indirectly) about things like friendship & feelings of, I figured I’d use that today & thus end September with a certain song.

A song that not only reflects on such themes but also a song that marks the 4th part of a certain unofficial long running Mu On Mo theme (see Mu On Mu #02, #09 & #27) & a song that got the following (partial) comment on YouTube…

“…but one thing you can’t judge is love…”

I wish that were true, as lots of people have done just that throughout history.

Which is weird cuz love (whether platonic or romantic), is something we all want & all you need.

Enjoy…

From 2003, that was Ringo Starr – Never Without You.

See you another time for more Music On Monday ?

…that’s if we’re still around.

Mu On Mo #250 – Summer… Of The Dead

July 2, 2012

With a certain chance of us all living a horrible undeath some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

As you may or may not have read in yesterday’s post, it’s Summer.

& if it isn’t… well, then you’re on the wrong side of the planet ?

Anyhoo, Summer always makes me think of a few things.

Things like melting ice cream running over your hands, leaving them all sticky & your shoes ruined.

But also the Dead.

No, not like zombies but artists who have passed away but had nice songs like the one that got the following comment on YouTube…

“True Brothers. A rarity. An understanding of such a term.”

Apparently, they weren’t that brotherly by the end.

Which must’ve been difficult when disaster struck.

Oh well, here comes the sunny tribute…

For his murdered friend John, that was George Harrison – All Those Years Ago, both RIP.

Mu On Mo #18 – The Hunt Comes To A Head IV/IV

April 30, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

I wonder what day it’s today.

Let’s see… what, monday ???

But that can only mean 1 thing.

Today, the 30th of April, is the 1st ever…

International Jazz Day !

Welcome to the last part of the Jazz themed Mu On Mo.

But before that, let’s hear a little bit more about this day from none other than Herbie Hancock…

“International Jazz Day is the great metaphor for international harmony.”

Wait, what’s that you say Mr Hancock ?

Harmony ?

Hmmmmm.

Why, that makes me think of a certain song…

Sing IT ! You Know You Want To

Huh, what ?

Not that song !

I meant the 1 that got the following comment on YouTube…

“This Band is like the first Beatles album: TIMELESS. God they ROCK!!!!!”

The 1st what album ?

Anyhoo, yes Jazz is a timeless art form.

But for now, let’s say goodbye to it with the following improv…

Standing on the shoulders of so many great ones, that was the experimental pioneer Herbie Hancock & The Headhunters – Sly.

See you another time for more Music On Monday & all that jazz ?

Mu On Mo #11 – Missing “M” FOUND II/IV

March 12, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Hey hey, it’s… Tuesday ???

Wait, that’s not right or is it ?

Well no & seeing as I didn’t change the name into “Tunes On Tuesday” or something there’s still a good & simple reason as to why.

You see, what happened is that the I-net connection went out last week & this was 1 of those times when it didn’t come back.

Until today that is & while this particular update was posted today, it’ll still appear as though it was on Monday through web log magic.

Anyhoo, back to the music…

Perhaps you read his comment in last week’s Mu On Mo but just in case you didn’t, let me repeat it here.

After weeks of wondering, it’s official…

Sir Monkey is alive !

A huge relief if there ever was 1, as I didn’t know that missing monkeys sometimes return.

It’s like waking up from a horrible nightmare & finally being able to cheer up.

Being asleep + a (monkey) knight + cheer = a song that got the following comment on YouTube…

“i seriously thought the Beatles sang this song. . .”

…the who ???

No no no, I have no idea who those guys are but there’s only 1 group who can sing this & they were “fab”.

Yes, it’s them again so enjoy the song…

From the dreamy 60’s, that was The Monkees – Daydream Believer.

Mu On Mo #09 – John & Lurve IV/IV

February 27, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Hello there !

Well, it’s another ending & once again… not easy.

This past month, because of Valentine’s Day, the theme was 1 of Lurve but what about relationships ?

Whether you’re straight, gay or an objectum-sexual, romantic relationships are difficult & they take a lot of work but even then, sooner or later, you’ll find conflict rearing it’s ugly head in some form or another even though you 2 are mad about eachother.

So for this final part a song that goes with that odd & normal, vague yet clear, scary but fun dream-like part of love.

It’s a song that got the following comment on YouTube…

“Could he get any more banal.

God he wrote some garbage.”

…oh, I see.

Well, guess we’re ending the whole Lurve theme with banal garbage instead of a bang.

A real shame but hey, who knows, perhaps you’ll still enjoy the song…

From the 70’s with dreamy love, that was John Lennon – #9 Dream.

A Date Which Will Live In Infamy

January 18, 2012

Thousands of years from now, along with so many of us here today, you will tell your great-great-grandchildren what actions you witnessed here on this day…

The beginning of the end.

I am typing of course about Wikipedia blacking out.

Wiki Weke Waka Woko Wuku

You just know a possible anti-piracy bill is 101% wrong when an information site that can be edited by ANYone goes offline for a mere 24 hours.

But hey, don’t take my word for it.

See for yourself…

Wiki Weke Waka Woko Wuku

Nope, not a joke.

That really was Gene Hackman’s wiki page only a few days ago & at 81, nearly 82, you can expect someone to be a bit long in the ol’ tooth but this is ridiculous !

But seriously, imagine yourself the lazy average student who uses Wikipedia, they’d end up thinking the walrus being none other than Gene Hackman instead of you know who.

Anyhoo, seeing as Wikipedia going offline doesn’t really help or even matter in the grand scheme of things, I thought I’d personally step up to the plate.

So, today on X-Mer’s New Atlantica Page there’ll be no updates whatsoever.

Nope, none at all – take that anti-piracy bill !

Mu On Mo #02 – Sophomoric Luck ?

January 9, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Hello again !

Like a rightwinged politician on Socialism, I’ve no real knowledge about music but I know what I like.

However, after last week’s post I quickly chose a song for this upcoming 2nd post & was all ready to put it up but as today’s monday approached, I felt it just wasn’t right.

So, at the last moment I changed it.

& this new choice, I feel, fits better with the whole theme of choosing music for whatever future Mu On Mo posts that might follow.

But before then, here’s the song that got the following YouTube comment…

“He may still be writting but its all shit.He should be given 40 lashes for every hienous record he has unleashed on the public.”

1: What is it with YouTube comments & “T” spelling mistakes ?

B: Sounds like we’re in for something truly awful, doesn’t it ?

But maybe you’re lucky & you’ll enjoy the song.

From the 70’s, that was Wings – With A Little Luck.

See you another time for more Music On Monday.

if we’re still around.
