Mu On Mo #37 – Nats In Ahgfa

September 10, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Was this really happening ?

Still dealing with emotional fallout of recent events, I got an invite.

It was for a presentation of a new horror comicbook featuring a story drawn by a friend.

It would happen with or without me.

I was supposed to meet up with my friend’s cousin to travel to this event together.

As he & his wife are busy busy busy, he wanted an earlier time than my current sleeping pattern allowed for.

What about what I want ?

So, we agreed I’d phone him ASAP after arriving there on my own.

In the early hours of that day, still awake, I found myself unmotivated to get started in any way.

Maybe I should’ve made an effort & said something.

By the time I arrived, it was 2 in the afternoon.

Unsure where my friend or his presentation was, I began to look around.

Was it always like this ?

The event was in full swing & there were lots of happy people around.

Looking, buying, sitting, eating, laughing, cosplaying, talking people.

Or am I deluding myself into beliefs ?

Despite this chaos of fun, I suddenly had a good idea where my friend might be & so finding him was easy after all.

Sitting behind a table at a booth with his bestie (the writer of this horror comic), he was drawing something.

Was this really happening ?

1 brief convo later, holding a complimentary horror comic in my hand, I mustered up whatever interest I had & looked around the various other booths there.

Suffice to say, I left pretty quickly thereafter & it was then I decided to take a taxicab back home.

The driver, a moustached fellow, was an Afghani somewhere in his late 50s.

About 5 minutes into an uneventful mostly quiet ride, he suddenly turned to me…

“Broken” but understandble, he asked me a question… Thé Question…

“How are you ?”

There was something quite unreal about having a man who’d studied economy, fled his war-torn country & now was trying to make ends meet as a taxi driver ask me such a question.

Which brings me to the song which got the following comment on YouTube…

“To me, this kind of feels like somebody who’s witnessed something horrible, and is trying to make it go away simply by effort of will. ‘I’m not here… This isn’t happening.’ Somebody in denial.”

This isn’t happening.

This isn’t happening.

This isn’t happening.

From 2000, that was Radiohead – How To Disappear Completely.

See you another time for more Music On Monday ?

…that’s if we’re still around.

The Highway To Global Jihad

February 2, 2011

The Times They Are A-Changin’

Following similar earlier events in Tunisia, Egypt’s “leader” Hosni Mubarak or as he prefers to be called “Ho-Mu”, is now dealing with the ending of his looong-running presidency.

& while this brings joy to the people there, it’s worrying the West.

Decades before the War On Terror began, the West already gave money to made deals with several Middle East leaders to gain their favour.

Should these dictators start to fall away, those deals will fall away with them.

So naturally, Western leaders are beginning to wonder what this will mean for global jihad & what it’ll mean for the War On Terror.

Just a few years ago, it was revealed that both France & the UK, in the form of François Mitterand & Margaret Thatcher, were totally opposed to the reunification of East & West Germany.

They actually had the belief & thus the fear that this newly united Germany would lead to a new Hitler type & in turn to World War III.

Though instead of that major conflict, we got to see huge social & political changes throughout the whole of Eastern Europe which eventually lead up to the end of the Iron Curtain, with no Warsaw Pact & even no Soviet Union.

Since then & especially since September 11th 2001, Western countries have patted themselves on their collective backs for being free & democratic, so why can’t they be happy for the citizens of the Middle East as they strive for the same goal ?

Doesn’t this beat adding yet another trillion or 2 to the deficit ??

Isn’t it better than yet another 100 deaths of the men & women who serve in the armed forces ???

Now that the citizens of the Middle East have shown the world they can mass protest against more than just the infidels of the West, how about giving them the benefit of the doubt ?

Surely, if they’re willing to brave their own armies to get rid of their corrupt leaders, they’re willing to go against the true evil rotting away at the very core of their daily lives… Muslim terrorists ?

Will those who practise Islam by way of jihad like al-Qaeda finally get the wrath they deserve from the good people of the Middle East ?

Meanwhile, with rumblings in Afghanistan, Yemen, Jordan & Saudi Arabia, I can’t help wonder which evil dictator is next…

Who Will Fall Next ?

Could Libya’s own Uncle Mo be under threat ?

Unsolved Mystery… SOLVED !

August 17, 2009

Hi there.

Do you like unexplained phenomena ?

Yeah, I’ll bet you do.

@ 1 point or another, everyone will ponder about such things as the Loch Ness monster, UFOs & Mothman.

So for this entry, I’d like to write about a similar kind of mystery.

It’s 1 of those enigmas that you can’t stop wondering about.

Let me put it to you in the form of a question…

Have you ever wondered what’s under a burqa ?

Yeah, I’ll bet you have.

Go ahead & think about it right now…

Women wearing burqas

…well ?

No idea ?

You give up ?

Ok, I’ll tell you what’s underneath a burqa.

Why, another burqa of course !

But seriously, the mystery of whatever’s beneath this… clothing item might be solved thanks to a new law in Afghanistan of all places.

You see, earlier this year a law proposal came about that would give married men certain… rights.

Meant to govern family life, the law stated women (unless ill) were forced to **** their husbands every 4 days.

This then led to all sorts of protests in & outside of Afghanistan.

As for the reasons why your typical 9-year old Afghan female wouldn’t want to regularly **** her adoring husband, I can only speculate.

Ok, so maybe it turned all married women into potential rape victims but then again, no one ever said marriage was a slice of heaven.

Anyhoo, all that protesting eventually paid off & the law went back to the ol’ drawingboard for some reviewing.

& now it’s back. (YAY !)

New & improved, the law now states husbands may withhold food if their wives refuse to indulge their manly urges.

😯

So, by fulfilling his needs she’ll get paid for services rendered… with food.

A basic daily need in return for doing whatever it is he likes to do.

Now, let’s think about this for second, shall we ?

WTF ? This law actually turns a wife into your very own personal whore.

With laws like these, who needs the Taliban ?

But no need to worry, the law is only to help President Hamid Karzai win votes intended for the Shia minority, who make up about 10% of Afghanistan’s population.

As for all those women in the 90% of the population group, they can take it easy.

For now.

As a separate family law for them (the Sunni majority) is now also being drawn up.

Anyways, back to the matter @ hand.

What is under a burqa ?” you ask ?

Very thin women. 😦

Got Food ?

Obama Vs Osama – Who Do Ya Love ?

June 3, 2009

Well, well, well.

It looks like the big dukaroo has begun.

Both O‘s have started a campaign of their own to get Muslims all across this globe behind their respective agenda’s.

One is in the Middle East to hold a key (historic ?) speech in Cairo, Egypt while the other has begun the mud-slinging from… well, wherever he’s hiding.

So, c’mon & join me as we take a closer look at our 2 candidates.

…is this like an election ?” I hear you ask.

Yeah kinda but the stakes are way bigger. Huge even.

Ok, so…

Obama (President) wants to build bridges & find opportunities for a common future.

Osama (cave dweller) wants more of the same crap.

Gee, how hard will it be for Muslims to decide who to root for ?

I mean they’ll be SO confused. & the names are sooo similar, that sure won’t help.

Anyhoo, Obama’s been here before, remember ?

He first managed to beat Hillary Clinton & then he beat John McCain.

This is just another opponent for him to tackle. (Yes, he can !)

Osama on the other hand has done his fair share of beating(s) too.

Sending countless of deluded men to their deaths to do his dirty work He has defeated many foes of Islam.

Sure it was a bit bloody along the way but that’s passion, right ?

So, who will finally emerge victorious after the votes of trust have been cast ?

Obama Vs Osama

Obama Vs Osama – The Money Shot

February 24, 2009

Innnnn THIS corner, we have a man who desperately wants to make things better:

OOOOO-BAMA !!!

Innnnn the other corner, we have a man obsessed with the idea to impose his religious views by force:

OOOOO-SAMA !!!

& in another corner, comicbook artist:

Erik Larsen.

…wait, what ???

Yes !

Already having used Obama’s electoral victory to boost the sales of his comicbook, Erik has now sunk to a whole new level.

You see, thanks to the miracle of time-travel, Erik was able to see what lies ahead.

Upon his return, Erik was kind enough to share it with us by drawing exactly what he saw.

Namely, a no holds barred match between Obama & Osama !

& here’s what the actual fight will look like…

Yes He CAN !

Aside from clearly being a ripoff of the classic Captain America punches Adolf Hitler cover, it has NOTHING to do with the actual story inside the comic.

Ladies & gentlemen, I give you Mr Erik Larsen !

Obama Vs Osama – The Beginning

January 20, 2009

Barack Obama won the election but long before Inauguration Day (January 20 2009) he started talking about the “War On Terror“…

—————————————————————————————————————

During his victory speech a few hours after having defeated John McCain:

To those who would tear the world down, we will defeat you !

To those who seek peace & security, we support you !

& to all those who have wondered if America’s beacon still burns as bright tonight we’ve proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth but from the enduring power of our ideals…

Democracy ! Liberty ! Opportunity ! & Unyielding Hope !

During his first official news conference some days after his election victory:

Iran’s development of a nuclear weapon, I believe is unacceptable and we have to mount an international effort to prevent that from happening.

Iran’s support of terrorist organisations, I think, is something that needs to cease.

During his “60 Minutes” interview some 2 weeks after Election Day:

I’ve said repeatedly that I intend to close Guantanamo. & I will follow through on that.

I’ve said repeatedly that America doen’t torture. & I’m gonna make sure that we don’t torture.

Also during that “60 Minutes” interview:

I think it is a top priority for us to stamp out al-Qaeda once & for all.

& I think capturing or killing Bin Laden is a critical aspect of stamping out al-Qaeda. He is not just a symbol, he’s also the operational leader of an organisation that is planning attacks against US targets.

During his “This Week” interview in January 2009:

Well, I think that Iran is going to be one of our biggest challenges. And as I said during the campaign, you know, we have a situation in which not only is Iran exporting terrorism through Hamas, through Hezbollah, but they are pursuing a nuclear weapon that could potentially trigger a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

& we are going to have to take a new approach. & I’ve outlined my belief that engagement is the place to start. That the international community is going to be taking cues from us in how we want to approach Iran.

—————————————————————————————————————

Interesting but the real battle starts today.

So let this presidency filled with promises of change commence…
