Musing On Monday

December 31, 2012

Well… here we are then.

December 31st, 2012.

The final day of the Apocalypse.

Which, according to most, was nonsense.

However, the word apocalypse means “revelation” & in these final moments of 2012 I happen to have 1.

& that is that for all intends & purposes this post is the final update.

Now, originally I wanted to include the regular “look-back” at that which was blogged about this past year.

But, I simply ran out of time.

There just isn’t enough of 2012 left to finish it, which is not only a revelation but also a… “disaster” of sorts.

So, I guess in a way the Apocalypse managed to get me in the end.

Which pretty much sucks, as I didn’t want to end it this way.

…yet, it somehow fits with the whole year’s theme.

Of course, I have my doubts about stopping & this has only added fuel to that fire.

However, continuing would kinda sorta feel like… writing beyond the last page of a novel or filming past the last scene of a movie.

Or, to put it in other terms… what happens next ?

More Than This

December 28, 2012

Whenever a year gets to this late stage, I just want it to be over.

Because that will mean no more bad news.

Which of course isn’t the case…

Like with this news about an Indian female student who was raped by multiple men inside a bus.

After hearing she was so critical, I began to wonder if she’d make it.

Now, just a few hours later, she’s died.

A nameless girl known to most as “gang rape victim”.

Surely, if this is 2012, we ought to have a lil’ revelation about her real name ?

RIP, nameless one.

You know who I refer to.

It’s his day after all.

So, deal with it already !

Mu On Mo #52 – Exordium & Terminus

December 24, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Yes, coming to you (every ?) Monday throughout the entirety of 2012 (with some co-operation from YouTube) will be some familiar songs.

While others, whether because of the relative unknownness of the artist or possibly your musical tastes, will be a new experience.

…51 weeks ago, that’s how it all started but now that’s all about to end.

Hello there & welcome to the last week of this year long Mu On Mo.

Yeah, too bad but there’s just no more weeks left in 2012.

But for 51 straight weeks, it did come to you on each & every monday, which is something I was never sure of.

Because while not typical for its entirety, there were a lot of mondays where I just had no idea what to do next.

Looking back, it’s clear there’s 2 Mu On Mo’s.

There’s the 1st part which was planned & revolved around monthly themes & then there’s the 2nd part, which was more personal on an emotional level & could change a lot from week to week.

Now, the monthly themes weren’t dropped in favour of this other more spontaneous approach.

For better or worse, that’s just how it developed along the way.

Anyhoo, the end…

The first ever Mu On Mo had a song which symbolized the start of the musical journey by going up in a balloon.

With that journey nearly at an end, it’s only fitting it should end in a place which lies not in the sky & fits with the apocalyptic theme.

In fact, check out last week’s entry’s title for a major HINT of this week’s song that got the following comment on YouTube…

“You are fantastic!”

I know that comment was aimed at the person singing in the music vid but you know what ?

For pulling this off & a lot more, I am fantastic !

& so was Mu On Mo…

From 2012 itself, that was Taylor Ferrera – I Wanna Go To Hell!.

Now, this is where I end with “See you another time for more Music On Monday ? …that’s if we’re still around.” but this being the actual end… well, I dunno if that song or any of the past 51 songs for that matter ever soothed a single soul but there you go & thanks to everyone who suggested songs !

Ladies & gentlemen, Music On Monday.

NRA – Now Really Asinine

December 22, 2012

The NRA, in the form of their executive vice president, Wayne LaPierre, has finally spoken out on what to do regarding guns in the USA…

“The truth is, that our society is populated by an unknown number of genuine monsters. People that are so deranged, so evil, so possessed by voices and driven by demons, that no sane person can every possibly comprehend them. They walk among us every single day…”

…wait, did he just describe his own organisation ???

Anyhoo, LaPierre went on…

“How many more copycats are waiting in the wings for their moment of fame from a national media machine that rewards them with wall-to-wall attention and a sense of identity that they crave, while provoking others to try to make their mark.”

“A dozen more killers, a hundred more?”

…doesn’t the NRA have like 4 million members ???

Anyway, LaPistol went on…

“How can we possibly even guess how many, given our nation’s refusal to create an active national database of the mentally ill?”

…don’t you have a list somewhere of those 4 million members ???

Anyhow, LaPiece went on…

“& here’s another dirty little truth that the media try their best to conceal. There exists in this country, sadly, a callous, corrupt and corrupting shadow industry that sells and stows violence against its own people.”

…I thought the media had openly reported on the NRA lobby in Washington ???

In any case, LaPeashooter went on…

“1,000 music videos & you all know this, portray life as a joke & they play murder — portray murder as a way of life. & then they all have the nerve to call it entertainment.”

…music vids kill people ? But I thought “people killed people” ???

Anyways, LaPutz went on…

“Isn’t fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?”

…I thought porn depicted sex thingies ? Sooo, sex kills people ???

Nevertheless, LaUzi went on…

“Rather than face — rather than face their own moral failings the media demonize lawful gun owners, amplify their cries for more laws, and fill the national media with misinformation and dishonest thinking that only delay meaningful action, and all but guarantee that the next atrocity is only a news cycle away.”

…the national media kills people ???

Odd & yet, LaMurderweapon went on…

“As brave & heroic & as self-sacrificing as those teachers were in those classrooms & as prompt & professional and well- trained as those police were when they responded, they were unable — through no fault of their own, unable to stop it.

As parents we do everything we can to keep our children safe. It’s now time for us to assume responsibility for our schools. The only way — the only way to stop a monster from killing our kids is to be personally involved & invested in a plan of absolute protection.”

…absolute protection ? Sooo, gun free schools kill people ???

But LaIdiot went on still…

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

…he wants a “good” guy to shoot him ???

Oookaaaaay… well, there you have it folks, it’s not guns nor is it the NRA’s fault those 20 kids are dead & it obviously never was.

Nope, instead it’s things like gun free schools, the national media, teachers, gunless good guys, countless music vids, porn & people with mental health issues.

Basically, just about anyone & anything that’s not a member of the good ole pro-gun NRA has blood on their hands… well, that makes perfect sense.

Kylie Says No To The Apocalypse

Riiight.

What do you know, Oz midget ?

You’re only an expert in sashaying around in skimpy tight clothes while aging anything but gracefully.

Anyhoo…

I’ve eaten delicious junk, I’ve sent out my X-Mas cards & I’ve paid all my bills.

Mayan Apocalypse… I’m [censored] ready for you ! 😈

Mu On Mo #51 – Highway To Hell

December 17, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Snow, presents, decorations.

All ways to tell the most wonderful time of the year is near.

Except here.

Hello & welcome to this penultimate Mu On Mo.

My mom &… her husband have another tradition.

Every year around this time they have an awful fight.

It can even involve the local law inforcement but that’s only on very special occasions.

Very recently, I had the good fortune to witness a lil’ bit of their yearly drama.

Afterwards, when… her husband had left, she said the folowing sentence…

“God, if you really exists, perform a miracle & see to it this bastard never returns !”

This & their recurring love & understanding are quite funny, especially around this this time of the year, as they both see themselves as Christians.

Which reminds me of a song that got the following comment on YouTube…

“OMG i just adore potatoes”

I know, right ? 😀

Roasted, mashed, boile …wait what ?

Anyhoo, enjoy this apt song…

For all dysfunctional yet devout birds of a feather, that was Pet Shop Boys – It’s A Sin.

See you 1 more time for a lil’ more Music On Monday ?

…that’s if we’re still around after December 21st O_O

God(b)less

December 14, 2012

Hmmm, what’s this ?

Lots & lots of people brutally murdered at an elementary school in Connecticut ?

That’s horrible, I guess I should type something clever against guns…

But not this time.

No no, not cuz of the impending Apocalypse but rather, as a teen recently told me, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people”.

Well, I dunno about you folks but that sure set me straight so let’s hear it for that great great idea of having the right to own guns… it’s only normal, right ?

Mu On Mo #50 – Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

December 10, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Sometime ago, I was on this train.

& there, sitting in front of me, was another person.

Who asked me a question.

“What topics will your blog deal with in the new year ?”

The answer to that, of course, is… none.

Apocalypse.

Buuuttttt, if I had to guess I suppose there would’ve been more.

Yes, both more of the same & more new stuff too.

Perhaps even Lou Ferrigno pics.

Still amazes me so many people (all looking for his pics) end up here where there are none to find.

I wonder, could they all be a lil’ …you-know-what ??? O_O

Hm, that reminds me of a fun song which got the following comment on YouTube…

“Great, and sadly overlooked song, from the Seventies….Very clever…What would the neighbors think?? Great line…”

2 guys doing stuff together.

What WOULD the neighbours think ?

Enjoy, you know you want to…

Fixing him a drink, that was Jim Stafford – My Girl Bill.

See you another time for more Music On Monday ?

…that’s if we’re still around.

Tidings Of Discomfort & Non-Joy

December 9, 2012

Now, some people (still) doubt the Apocalypse will happen.

Well, those people just aren’t paying attention to the obvious signs.

Like brand new spam mail for example that refers to the Academy Awards…

Spam Signs of The Apocalypse

Surely, when total rats like spammers (who don’t give a crap about anything or anyone except themselves) suddenly don’t wanna refer to 2012, something must be seriously seriously amiss ?

Mu On Mo #49 – The Beginning Of The End

December 3, 2012

With a certain chance of us all dying a horrible death some time during this apocalyptic year, it’s better to focus elsewhere.

& to soothe the soul, what’s better than a few tunes ?

Here’s some Music On Monday…

Here we are then.

December 2012.

The Apocalypse.

Hello & welcome to 1 of the final remaining mondays.

I’m not quite sure yet how I feel about it all ending, really.

However, like with some previous months, I’d like there to be a theme for this last 1, namely…

Fun.

As long as I like it, anything goes.

Today a fun song that got the following comment on YouTube…

“Think if they could make music like this these days. People would be happier I think. You feel good when you listen to this.”

I hope so.

…but having gotten to know Humanity through this web log these last few years, they’d probably brand it “gay”, “socialist” or “Muslim”.

There’s something seriously wrong with a lot of people, glad it’s almost over…

Rama lama ding dong forever, that was Barry Mann – Who Put The Bomp (In The Bomp, Bomp, Bomp).

See you another time for more Music On Monday ?

…that’s if we’re still around.
